The Santa Clara Farmers Market is probably the last place anyone would expect to get “rickety-rickety-wrecked, son.” Thanks to the team at Illusive Comics & Games, the Rickmobile made a stop in the Bay Area as part of a promotional tour for Season 3.

The event was scheduled to start at noon but guest have been advised to arrive early due to the limited parking and the Farmers Market. Some fans had camped overnight while others had early in the day to claim a spot in line. The event attracted almost 1000 fans, hence the Illusive Comics staff had to organize the lines to ensure everyone got a chance to get something from the Rickmobile.

Anna Garcia was one fan who got here early in the hopes of getting a good spot in line. But as she told us,

“I got here at exactly 10:00 am and the line was already growing, I have to guess some people camped out since sunrise.”

Despite the massive line, there was enough Rick and Morty nods to make fans “get schwifty“. Guest in line were able to win prizes while the staff did their best to provide shade and water given the heat.

Rickety-Rickety-Wrecked

Most fans came to the event wearing their favorite Rick and Morty t-shirt while some were also cosplaying as the titular characters. Also present during the event were volunteers from the Wolves of Mandalore and the 501st Legion.

Fans could either buy a souvenirs or have their picture taken with the Rickmobile. Anyone wanting any Rick and Morty merchandise but did not want to wait in the massive line could simply purchase it inside Illusive Comics & Games. A souvenir would be nice but many fans I spoke with just wanted a picture with the Rickmobile.

Tom Cohen was one such fan who decided to spend his Saturday having his picture taken with the Rickmobile. He stated,

“I could careless about a T-shirt or toys, all I want is just to show that I saw the Rickmobile and make a few friends jealous as an added bonus (while chuckling).”
