After some speculation and development bumps, Showtime has officially confirmed the premier date for the revival of Twin Peaks. Better get that damn fine cup of coffee ready.

The first two episodes of Twin Peaks will premier on May 21st as a special event while the the third and fourth episodes will be made available online immediately. Overall the reboot series will have 18 episodes.

Not much is known about the new plot but its been said that its more aligned with what David Lynch had original envisioned. The story is set 25 years after the events of the show and will feature the return of the original cast including Kyle MacLachlan.

Twin Peaks was a supernatural crime drama that followed FBI Agent Dale Cooper working with local law enforcement to capture the killer of homecoming queen Laura Palmer. Despite only running for two seasons, it has been ranked as one of the greatest shows of the 90’s while being a major influence on pop-culture.
