Time to Plan for the Biggest Anime Event in San Jose

After a long wait, the Bay Area anime and cosplay community can celebrate: registration for FanimeCon 2027 is now open. The convention returns over Memorial Day weekend to the San Jose Convention Center and its surrounding venues.

Register for FanimeCon 2027

Registration opened on Monday, October 12th (PST). Weekend badges start at $90, and hotel reservation priority is based on the order of registration. Attendees have until January 31st, 2027, to lock in that price before it rises to $100. On April 1st, weekend badges jump to $110. Single-day passes will only be sold at the con.

The prices for passes at the con are as follows:

  • Full Weekend: $110
  • Friday: $75
  • Saturday: $80
  • Sunday: $80
  • Monday: $70
  • Half-weekend (Sunday and Monday): $95
  • Child (10 and under): Free with paid badge

Plan carefully before buying, because FanimeCon badges cannot be rolled over to a future year or transferred to someone else. Refunds are available on pre-registration badges, but only to the person who paid with their credit card or the person the badge is registered to. Email fanimeconsupport@cmrus.com within 30 days of purchase to start the process. Approved refunds return to the original payment method, and a cancellation email follows soon after. There is one hard stop: no refund requests will be accepted after 11:59 p.m. PST on April 26th, 2027, no matter when the badge was bought. Any badge purchased on or after April 27th, 2027, is final.

Early Hiccups

It would not be the first day of FanimeCon registration without an overloaded website or trouble buying a badge. This year was no different, but organizers acknowledged the problem and confirmed it has been fixed. We tested the system ourselves, and it works perfectly.

More from FanimeCon

Beyond the location and dates, little else about FanimeCon 2027 has been confirmed. Panel submissions, cosplay gathering proposals, FaniMaid Cafe tryouts, and other event sign-ups will open at a later date. Guest announcements are also still to come. Fanime organizers will host an open house, though the date and location have yet to be announced. In the meantime, fans can catch the Fanime team at other conventions throughout the year.

FanimeCon 2027 takes place over Memorial Day weekend, May 28th to 31st, at the San Jose Convention Center and nearby downtown venues. It is one of the largest fan-organized anime conventions in North America, and the 2026 event drew 27,500 attendees.
