One of the many cosplay gatherings organized for the FanimeCon 2026 weekend was dedicated to Resident Evil fans attending the convention. This gave devotees of the acclaimed horror series a chance to meet and showcase their cosplay.

Resident Evil Cosplay Gathering

The Resident Evil Cosplay Gathering took place on Day 1 (May 22) of FanimeCon 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. at location G7. The gathering welcomed anyone cosplaying as a character from the entire Resident Evil series, including the mainline games, spin-off titles, CGI animated films and the Paul W.S. Anderson films. It began with a group photo of all the cosplayers before breaking into smaller shots by character, title, theme and special request.

With the successful launch of Resident Evil Requiem in February, the gathering featured a few Grace cosplayers, though most Requiem cosplayers came dressed as Leon S. Kennedy. Overall, various iterations of Ada Wong were the most popular, followed by Leon S. Kennedy from Resident Evil 4.

The Resident Evil Cosplay Gathering was among the many held during FanimeCon 2026. The variety of these gatherings is what makes the weekend memorable for cosplayers and fans alike.

FanimeCon 2026 took place during Memorial Day weekend from May 22 to May 25 at the San Jose Convention Center and surrounding venues. It is one of the largest fan-organized anime conventions in North America and one of the biggest events in San Jose. The convention is centered at the convention center, with additional events hosted at the San Jose Marriott, the Signia by Hilton San Jose, the DoubleTree by Hilton San Jose and the Plaza de César Chávez.
