The Iconic Voice Actor Returns to Persona 4 Revival

One of the biggest surprises from the second Persona 4 Revival broadcast was the return of Johnny Yong Bosch as Tohru Adachi, with the voice actor jokingly apologizing to fans for deceiving them.

In the original Persona 4, Johnny Yong Bosch voiced both the protagonist and Tohru Adachi. When the Persona 4 Revival cast was first announced, Nazeeh Tarsha took over as the protagonist, while Adachi’s voice actor went unannounced. Before the remake was even revealed, Bosch had said he was open to reprising his role but acknowledged he might be recast. Meanwhile, ATLUS producer Kazuhisa Wada said at Gamescom 2026 that the studio wanted a fresh cast.

When the Persona 4 Revival Broadcast | Episode 2 trailer dropped, it confirmed that Bosch would return in the role of Tohru Adachi. Following the announcement, he shared the following post confirming the news and apologizing to fans for not saying anything.

Of course, Bosch was likely bound by a nondisclosure agreement (NDA). It is common practice for voice actors to sign NDAs that bar them from making announcements or confirming roles until a set date.

Persona 4 Revival will launch on February 18, 2027, for the XBOX Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. The story follows the protagonist, who moves to Inaba, a town shaken by scandal and a string of murders. While investigating a local urban legend called the Midnight Channel, he and his classmates uncover a hidden world inside television screens. Guided by Teddie, an inhabitant of that world, they hunt the killer who has been sending victims there to die.

The game is available for preorder with five options: Digital Standard, Digital Deluxe, Digital Premium, Physical Standard, and a Physical Collector’s Edition.
