Crysis Remastered

After several days of rumors and speculation, Crytek officially confirmed that Crysis Remastered is in the works.

Crytek has announced that Crysis Remastered is in the works and is set to be released on all major consoles and the PC. The release date will be sometime during the Summer. The remaster will focus on the single player campaign as the team works to add high-quality textures and improve the setting. They will also work on the depth of field while adding new light and motion blur setting. All this will improve the detail rich world that made the original an landmark in PC gaming.

In a press release that was made available, Crytek CEO Avni Yerli has stated,

“We are excited to be working on the Crysis franchise again, and to bring all the Crysis fans a remaster worthy of their passion for the game.”

The original Crysis was a spiritual successor to Far Cry after Crytek and Ubisoft ended their partnership. The game has released in 2007 for the PC and has been hailed as one of the greatest shooters. It has been praised for its technical achievements as its graphics were so visually detailed that only recently have other titles surpassed its level of quality. Its hardware demanding graphics also gave rise to the popular meme “Can It Run Crysis?“.
