Creatures-Con now joins numerous conventions that have canceled their 2020 event due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event is now set to take place during the summer of 2021.

In an announcement made on April 20th via Facebook, the Creatures-Con team broke the heartbreaking news.No additional information was given regarding refunds or rollovers for guests and vendors. It is expected that information will be made available in the coming days or weeks.

While the news was heart breaking for fans, many had been expecting it to be cancelled. The decision is being supported of the community who understood it had to be done.

This comes a week after Gov. Gavin Newsom announces that he is working with the governors of Washington and Oregon on a plan to re-open the economy. Despite the good news, several conventions have cancelled their Summer 2020 event out of concern for everyone’s safety.

Creatures-Con 2020 is among the many events that have been cancelled because of the pandemic. GDC was one of the first events in the Bay Area to be cancelled. Numerous organizers attempt to setup an alternative event before the “Shelter in Place” was declared. Other events that have been cancelled include Ani-Me Con, DAiCon and Clockwork Alchemy.

  1. No E3, No Comic Con, No Anime Expo, No FanimeCon and No Creature Con. Basically Communist China has ruined our summer with their virus and they need to be held accountable.

  2. Good on them for making the right choice. I know it sucks but I rather have No Creature Con this year then a shit ton of dead friends.
