Mangamo 8Bit/Digi

Mangamo is a new mobile manga reader service that has launched and is offering new subscribers a two month free trial.

This new app aims to allow fans easy access to their favorite manga without breaking their wallets or bothered by ads. By paying for a monthly subscription, users will get access to Mangamo vast library. Those who sign up now will receive a two month free trial and will then be charged $4.99 a month.

This app is the vision of founder and CEO, Buddy Marini, who had previously served as CEO of Hulu in Japan. He has stated in a press release:

“Mangamo offers something I’ve always wanted as a fan: an easy and affordable way to read a ton of new manga while giving back to the publishers and creators so they can continue to make the manga I love.”

Currently the library includes hit titles like Attack on Titan, Somali & the Forest Spirit, along with Fire Force just to name a few. All works have been professionally translated into English and more titles will be added as the the service grows. Mangamo has partnered with 11 publishers including Kodansha, Comicsmart, Toppan, and North Star Pictures just to name a few.

Another unique feature is that readers have the option of how to read it. Users could read it from right to left (as manga is originally published) or by scrolling vertically like (like most publications on a mobile device).

Mangamo is currently available at the App Store for all iOs devices with plans for an Android release sometime in the future. All works featured have been curated and localized by an editorial team while being legally licensed directly from the publisher.
