campbellcon0011-2016

The Halloween weekend offered many options for the pop-culture junkies of the Bay Area, but for us at 8Bit/Digi it was all about Campbell Con 2016. This one day event at the Campbell Community Center brought together local vendors and fan clubs while attracting families along with other enthusiasts.

It may not have been a huge event like the other Comic Con’s in the Bay Area but one could have the same kind of fun. Campbell Con had over 40 vendors selling comics and other unique merchandise along with local artists. Even if you had no shopping agenda, it’s still fun to look through all the cool stuff and meet the many artists

Campbell Con also featured several special guests including and presentations including The Land of the Giants reunion with Gary Conway and Deanna Lund (Don Marshall was suppose appear but could not make it). Also present were Alision MacLnnis and Jennifer Yen from Power Rangers: Rescue for a Q&A session while actor Jeffrey Weissman hosted a discussion about his career and Mark Badger was present to demonstrate his artistic style.

Of course no convention story is ever complete without mentioning all the amazing cosplayers that were present. Some worked for authenticity while other added their own personal style. The Avengers Initiative even hosted a Doctor Strange cosplay contest with the First Prize winner walking away with $150.00.

After the event, guests could meet up at the Campbell Brewing Company for an after Con party. Overall this would be the best way to start a Halloween weekend with either friends or the family.

  1. I can’t belive I missed this Con even though I live 10min away from downtown, I will so go to the next one in 2017. Any word if its coming back? Would love to check it out since these small cons are so much better then the massive ones like in SF.
