Fans of the gambling themed anime series, Kakegurui, will be excited to learn that the second season has been confirmed and is set to premier early next year.

First reported in Japan by Comic Natalie with the details translated by Anime News Network and Crunchyroll, the second season will be titled Kakegurui×× and will follow the “The Tower of Doors” arc from the manga. The series will feature the return of the original cast along with 11 new additions while the new opening theme song will be performed by JUNNA.

Season 2 will first premier on television on January 8th followed by a Netflix in Japan premier on January 10th. There is no word at the moment when Netflix will have a global premier but one could speculate it will be sometime in February.

Based on the manga of the same name – Kakegurui follows Yumeko Jabami as she attempts to disrupt the hierarchy at Hyakkaou Private Academy, a private school where the social status is established by a students gambling skills. Netflix is responsible for its global distribution, having premiered the anime in February and the live action adaptation in May.
