Following a week of rumors and speculation, Capcom officially confirmed that Resident Evil: Code Veronica is coming to the PS4.

The rumors began when several media outlets reported that the USK (the media rating board in Germany) had posted that they had issued a rating for the PS4 version of Resident Evil: Code Veronica X. However the rating was taken down with no explanation while no proof has been provided that it was legitimate.

Capcom officially settled the rumors by officially announcing that Resident Evil: Code Veronica X will be released on May 9 in North America and May 10 in Europe. The announcement was made through the games official Twitter account with the following post:

It should be noted that this is not a HD version but an emulator that would allow the PS2 version of  Resident Evil: Code Veronica X. As with other emulators for the PS4, players will have to buy the game through the PlayStation Store.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica was the fourth game in the series having first been released on the Sega Dreamcast then remade for the PS2. The story takes place three months after the events in Raccoon City and the story focus on Clair and Chris Redfield trying to escape an Umbrella facility.
