Rockstar Games confirmed that the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V will now be released on March 24, 2015. They have stated in a blog post,
“Our apologies for the slight shift in the date but the game requires a few extra weeks of testing and polish to make it as good as can be. Moving a release date is never a decision we take lightly and is a choice we make only when we know it is in the best interests of the game and our fans. Thanks everyone for your understanding and we assure you these few extra weeks will be worth it when the game does arrive in March.”
This delay will not effect the launch of Heists, which is set to be released next week. PC fans will also be happy to know that Grand Theft Auto: Online will be available the same day as the games official PC release.
Grand Theft Auto V was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 17, 2013 followed by a Next-Gen release on November 18, 2014. The game has been highly praised by critics as one of the greatest games while also having become the fastest selling media title of all time.
The story follows Michael Townley, Trevor Philips and Franklin Clinton who are seeking the American Dream in a post-2008 crash society. However they are forced to act as pawns for a corrupt Federal Agent who uses them in his feud with the IAA (a parody of the CIA).
