Question: What does Big Boss and Jack Bauer have in common (besides being played by Kiefer Sutherland)? Answer: They both enjoy CalorieMate.

CalorieMate is a brand of nutritional energy bar and gel foods that is available in flavor like cheese, chocolate or maple. While sold only in Japan, the brand has gained a cult following in the West thanks to its inclusion as a health boost item in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

While Big Boss was munching on CalorieMate during Operation: Snake Eater, Jack Bauer was wolfing them down while trying to stop a terrorist attack. Back in the early 2000’s, several CalorieMate commercials were made featuring Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer.
