An Insight for Bay Area Gamers
The first San Jose Con has been announced and it’s set to take place this summer.
As life starts to return to normal, new conventions are starting to take root here in the Bay Area. The first San Jose Con has been announced and it’s set to take place this summer.
San Jose Con is a one day comic convention that will take place on August 29th at the Holiday Inn (located at 1350 North 1st St). Organized by the promoters of the Big Wow Comic Feast, the event will highlight the history and impact of comics. Details about the panels, guests and more will be unveiled in the coming months.
Please note that that even though the event is happening the same time as SiliCon 2021, the events are not connected. Several local comic book shops have already confirmed that they will have a booth at San Jose Con. Some will have a presence at both conventions with others will only be available at one event.
Tickets will be sold for $8 in advance or $10 at door along with $5 for parking at the hotel. Ticket sales will be open in the coming weeks. Panel and vendor submissions is also now open.
This will be one of many live fan conventions in the Bay Area that are confirmed for Summer 2021. SacAnime Summer will also be a live event. Others like Curnchyroll Expo have opted to remain all digital for 2021 with plans for a live event in 2022.
