Big news for fans of the Earth Defense Force series, D3 Publisher Inc. has announce the global launch date for Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain.

Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain will have players once again take on the role of an EDF solider fighting the war against the Aggressors. The new game will feature familiar enemies along with the new monsters. At the same time; players will get access to new weapons while also working with a new faction, the Kindred Rebellion.

Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain will be released for the PlayStation 4 on April 11, 2019. For the moment, there is no word regarding a PC, Switch or Xbox One launch. The game is now available for pre-order in both a Standard Edition or Ultimate Edition.

The Ultimate Edition will feature exclusive items, a series of creation parts along with access to 19 weapons, vehicles and outfits that are not available in the standard edition. The special edition will also include a season pass, giving players access to all future DLC’s.

Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain will be the sixth game in the series and will have players once again defending earth from an insect invasion. To get a good understanding of what to expect, check out my review of Earth Defense Force 5.
