Find out where to watch the Evangelion 30th Movie Fest across the Bay Area on July 21st and 22nd.

GKIDS has announced that it will be hosting the Evangelion 30th Movie Fest on July 21st and July 22nd in select theaters in North America, including several in the Bay Area. Luckily for all you EVA fans, we have compiled a list of theaters in the Bay Area that will be hosting the event.
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the franchise, select theaters will screen Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth on July 21st, followed by The End of Evangelion on July 22nd. Tickets are now on sale, with all Bay Area showings being at 7 p.m. Both films will screen in the original Japanese with English subtitles.
The following Bay Area theaters will be featuring the Evangelion 30th Movie Fest:

Set 15 years after a cataclysmic event, Neon Genesis Evangelion follows Shinji Ikari, who is recruited by his estranged father to pilot an EVA in humanity’s desperate battle against beings known as Angels. The series has been widely praised for deconstructing the mecha genre while exploring complex religious symbolism and profound themes of individuality, freedom, and personal choice.
The original series aired from 1995 to 1996 and concluded with the film The End of Evangelion. It was later reimagined through the Rebuild of Evangelion saga, which began in 2007. Throughout 2026, the franchise will celebrate its 30th anniversary.
In 2019, Netflix acquired the streaming rights to the original series, along with Death & Rebirth and The End of Evangelion, and commissioned a new English dub. To get a sense of the series, check out my review of the Netflix dubbed version of Neon Genesis Evangelion.
