2016 may have been a shitty year for humanity but it was a great year for gaming. It was a year in which several of the most highly anticipated titles were for the mobile device while Nintendo finally decided to join the party.

As the year comes to an end, its time to look back at the five best mobile games of 2016.

5. Bully

Rockstar has brought another PlayStation 2 classic to the mobile device and it too does not disappoint fans. Players take on the role of Jimmy Hopkins as he tries to survive his time at Bullworth Academy while battling the schools many cliches.

4. Rome: Total War

One of the most iconic strategy games of all time comes to the iOS and puts titles like Clash of Clan to shame. Set during the last years of the Roman Republic, players take control of one of the three great and from that point must work to grow their influence while battling their enemies.

3. Pokemon Go

Nintendo and Niantic have given gamers a chance to live their dream of venturing into the world and becoming a Pokemon master. Pokemon Go is an augmented reality game that allows players to search for and capture Pokemon in their area.

2. Super Mario Run

Following years of pressure from fans, Nintendo finally cries uncle and brings the most iconic game series to the mobile device. Super Mario Run is the classic story of our hero having to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser.

1. Pocket Morty’s

Staying true to what makes Rick and Morty a unique show, Pocket Mortys for the mobile device is a Pokemon-like game that will get fans “rickety-rickety-wrecked, son.” The duo are dragged into the world of Morty Training after the Council confiscate Rick’s portal gun for participating in an illegal fight.
