It’s hailed as one of the greatest role-playing games of all time and now rumors are floating that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is either going to have a reboot or a new installment.

First picked up by SWGameOutpost and StarWars News Net in regards to a podcast by Liam Robertson, it was stated that BioWare is allegedly working on a new Star Wars game is in the works. The information was provided by an unnamed source who Robertson would not give but state it’s has credibility.

The speculation among the gaming media is based on two thoughts. The first is that BioWare could be working on a reboot of the series after Disney declared expanded universe as non-cameo. The second is that BioWare is working on a new installment of the series.

Adding to the speculation is Drew Karpyshyn, the senior writer of Knights of the Old Republic, having returned to BioWare in 2015 to work on an unknown project. It should also be noted that EA has the exclusives rights to publish all AAA Star Wars titles.

Gamers could expect more details or an official announcement at E3 2017 or sometime in 2018.
