Capcom unveiled (via Twitter) that Resident Evil: Veronica has surpassed 1 million wishlists across Steam and the PlayStation Store. In a follow-up tweet, it confirmed that wishlists for the XBOX Store and Nintendo eShop are set to open soon.

The game was revealed during the opening of Summer Game Fest 2026 on June 5, 2026, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Code Veronica Returns

A remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica, the story follows Claire Redfield searching for her brother after the events in Raccoon City. She is captured by Umbrella and taken to a facility on Rockfort Island. Upon her arrival, the island is attacked by H.C.F., triggering a biological outbreak that forces her to find a way to escape. Meanwhile, Chris Redfield arrives to the facility after learning of her capture.

The game is notable for introducing the rival company and marking the return of Albert Wesker. This sets up the groundwork for the events of Resident Evil 4 and 5.

The original Resident Evil Code: Veronica launched on the Sega Dreamcast in 2000 and was highly praised for advancing the survival horror experience into the sixth generation. A PlayStation 2 version, Code: Veronica X, was released in 2001 and featured new cutscenes along with a demo disc for Devil May Cry. Code: Veronica X was later ported to the Nintendo GameCube.
