Bethesda has announced the date for QuakeCon 2023 and has confirmed it will be a live event. This will be the first time in three years the event has been live.
QuakeCon 2023 will take place from August 10th through August 13th at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. The event will be a hybrid with major announcements along with the finale of the Quake World Championships shown live and on Twitch. The highlight of the weekend is the return of the famous BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Computer) LAN party.
This years event will be more focused on the BYOC LAN party, thus there will be no exhibit hall.
Sign-up for the Elite Drawings Pass will begin on April 11th. Standard and Premium passes will go on sale starting on April 21st. Registration for the Quake Pro League Spectator will open on May 10th.
QuakeCon is an annual gaming convention that is organized by ZeniMax Media to announce new titles and promote their major franchises. The event is also known for hosting the largest LAN parties and major gaming tournaments. The event started as a fan-organized convention before id Software took over and transformed it into the modern QuakeCon.
The last live QuakeCon took place in 2019 before it went all digital due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021 and 2022 events were also all digital due to concerns about public safety.
