Following its showcasing at Anime Expo 2024, NIS America has unveiled new details about Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero.

Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero once again follows Marona, a girl who can see Phantoms, and her Phantom partner, Ash. Together, they work as Chromas, contractors who travel to various islands to solve people’s problems. When a fleet of ghost ships attacks, Marona and Ash are separated. Marona and her new friend, Apricot, must assemble the legendary crew that once defeated these spectral foes.

The gameplay will be a strategy RPG that features free movement on a gridless map. Players will summon their Phantom squad during battle by confining their souls to objects on the map. Phantoms can also confine with special items for major attacks. In addition, Marona can confriend with a Phantom to transform her appearance and access special attacks.

The Deluxe Edition of Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is now available for pre-order. It includes the base game along with a digital soundtrack and a mini art book.

Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is set to launch sometime in 2025 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation consoles, and PC. It’s the long awaited sequel to Phantom Brave, which was first released on the PlayStation 2 back in 2004. This was followed by a Wii launch in 2009. The game was remastered for the PC in 2016 followed by the Nintendo Switch in 2021.
