Spike Chunsoft unveiled a new trailer for STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT that showcases a story route created exclusively for the remake.

STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT New Route Intro Trailer introduces players to a worldline in which Rintaro Okabe (aka Hououin Kyouma) never invented the time machine, and D-Mails, messages capable of altering the past, do not exist. Vastly diverging from the worldline, he struggles to comprehend the situation, only to be met with hostile stares from the very lab members who should be his friends. STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT is currently available for pre-order with the choice of the Standard Edition or the Steelbook Edition. The Steelbook Edition is only available for the Nintendo consoles and the PlayStation 5. It includes the base game along with a steelbook featuring unique cover art and a clear water resistant sticker.

More About STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT

A remake of the second game in the Science Adventure series, STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT follows Rintaro Okabe and the members of the Future Gadget Laboratory, who discover a way to send messages to the past, altering the future. However, their actions draw the attention of the shadowy organization SERN, setting off a chain of events that leads to the death of Mayuri Shiina, Okabe’s childhood friend. To correct this, he must fix the past to prevent the inevitable future.

STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT is set to launch in North America and Europe on August 20th for Xbox Series X|S and Steam. This will be followed by a launch on the Nintendo Switch consoles and PlayStation 5 on October 29th.

The original STEINS;GATE was released in Japan in 2009 for the Xbox 360, followed by a PC launch in 2010. It would not see a global launch until JAST USA released it for the PC in 2014. It was later adapted into a 24 episode anime series that aired in 2011, while earning critical acclaim and helping boost interest in the game. The anime series is currently available to watch on Crunchyroll.

The last entry in the Science Adventure series was ANONYMOUS;CODE, which launched in 2023 to critical acclaim. Set one year after the Sad Morning incident, the story follows Pollon Takaoka, an activist hacker, and the mysterious Momo Aizaki as they seek Cicada 3301, who possesses vital information about an impending global catastrophe.
