Carpenter is no stranger to the gaming world as many fans consider the video game follow up to The Thing as a true sequel while his cult film, Escape From New York is well known to have influence Hideo Kojima in creating the Metal Gear series. In the past he has also praised other video games such as Zero Horizon Dawn.
Far Cry 5 is the eleventh installment in the series and was released on March 27, 2018 for all major consoles along with the PC. Players take on the role of a Sheriff Deputy tasked with bringing down Joseph Seed and his cult.
