Activision and Infinity Wards gamble of sending the Call of Duty franchise into space has paid-off well as it has been reported that Infinite Warfare has sold over 1.8 million units in the United States on its first week.
Based on the data collected by VGChartz; about 830,989 units were sold for the PS4 while 781,551 for the Xbox One and 200,783 for the PC. This announcement comes only a day after it was reveled that Infinite Warfare was the third best selling title in Japan
While the numbers are impressive, they also represent a decline in sales that has been plaguing the series according to Computer Game Monthly. Following the success of Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops II, the series has failed to see such impressive numbers as sales have been declining.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is the thirteenth game in the iconic shooter series and was released on November 4th for all major consoles along with the PC. The story follows a cosmic war between Earth and the Settlement Defense Front following a surprise attack on Geneva.
