News of the remaster has also sparked interest in the entire series, which has been dormant. The series has been praised by horror fans while Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly has been hailed as one of the best horror games of all time. Many are hoping that its success would lead into more remasters / remakes or a new entry in the series.
The Fatal Frame series is a supernatural horror survival that has players try to escape a haunted location using the Camera Obscura (a camera built to pacify ghosts). Fatal Frame was released for the PlayStation 2 back in 2001. Maiden of Black was the last game in the series and it was originally released for the Nintendo Wii back in 2015.
