Horror gamers hoping to survive the nightmare of Amare Est Vivere Hospital will have to wait until 2025 as Corpse Party II has been delayed.

XSEED Games has announced that Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion has been delayed to 2025. The game was originally scheduled to launch sometime in Fall 2024. At the moment to release date has been set but one could expect an early to mid-2025 window.

The game is now available for pre-order with the option between a limited edition and a standard edition. Dubbed the Ayame’s Mercy Edition, it will be a limited edition version of the game that is only available for consoles. It will include the base game along with an LED blue candle, a 64-page art book, Ayame’s Mercy art cards, an “evidence kit”, and a metal outer case. It’s available for sale at select retailers for $79.99 USD / $109.99 CAD.  

Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion follows three friends as they explore the Amare Est Vivere Hospital, testing a local urban legend. Unfortunately, the legend is true and they trigger a curse that sends them into a dark realm. Together they must avoid a vengeful spirit and other horrors as they search for a way to dispel the curse.

Corpse Party is a horror series that follows a group of students who are trapped in a haunted school. The first game in the series was released in 1996 in Japan. American fans first got to play the game in 2006. Its success paved the path for several squeals, a manga series, and an anime adaptation.
