Kit 9 Studios has announced that the proposed Coffin of Andy and Leyley game jam has been shelved.

Kit 9 Studios has shelved the proposed The Coffin of Andy and Leyley game jam, the studio announced in its third development update.
Back in the July 2026 update, the team proposed a game jam inspired by The Coffin of Andy and Leyley. The event would have featured fan-made works drawing on the gameโs themes, aesthetics, and setting. Under the proposal, winners could have earned cash and clout while the community gained new games to play. Kit 9 Studios sought input from fans while exploring ways to make it a reality.
The November 2026 development update revealed that the idea has been shelved for now. While the game jam drew some interest, no party stepped up to manage it, despite the studioโs offer of endorsement and funding. The game jam has not been entirely abandoned, just put aside for the moment.
“Regarding the game jam interest check and sponsorship offer.
While there was some interest in such an event, ultimately no party rose to the occasion to manage it with our offer of endorsement and funding. The idea has been shelved for now.
Thank you for your valuable input, especially those who showed excitement to create and/or play the entries! Maybe some other time.”
The update also unveiled the progress of the next chapter, Burial. The other route has been expanded enough that it no longer ends on a cliffhanger. Structural and pacing improvements mean players will no longer tediously replay content to reach new scenes, while the universally disliked, repetitive puzzles are gone, leaving only the important ones. Work continues, and the studio said the coming update is shaping up to be the best one yet.
A new trailer has also dropped highlighting new story elements:
The Coffin of Andy and Leyley is a horror adventure game that blends elements of a psychological thriller with those of a dark comedy. The story follows siblings Andrew and Ashley Graves trying to survive a quarantine by taking drastic measures.
The game started as a project released on Itch.io before launching on Steam in Early Access. No launch date has been set, but the goal is to have a full launch sometime in 2027.
