CD Projekt RED has announced they have partnered with Studio Trigger and Netflix to create Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is an anime adaptation set in the same universe as Cyberpunk 2077. The story will follow a kid who becomes an edgerunner (an outlaw mercenary) as way to survive the streets of Night City. The 10 episode series is set to premier in 2022.

Studio Trigger has confirmed that Hiroyuki Imaishi will direct the series while Masahiko Otsuka will serve as assistant director. It has also been confirmed that Hiromi Wakabayashi will be the creative director. Character designs will be lead by Yoh Yoshinari and Yuto Kaneko. Yoshiki Usa and Masahiko Otsuka will work on the screenplay.

It has also been confirmed that Akira Yamaoka (best known for his work on the Silent Hill series) will compose the original score.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a video game adaptation of the hit table-top RPG series written by Mike Pondsmith. Players take on the role of a mercenary named V as they they are dragged into a conflict between the powers of Night City.
