BayCon 2021 Cancelled, Deferred to 2022. 8Bit/Digi

With the resent spike in cases and a cloud of uncertainty, BayCon 2021 has been cancelled and the event has been deferred to 2022.

The event was set to take place during the Memorial Day Weekend. This was after all attempts to host it in 2020 was cancelled due to the pandemic. With concerns that the pandemic might not be resolved until 2022, event organizers announced that BayCon 2021 has been cancelled. The announcement was made in the following post:

It’s unknown when the 2022 event will take place but it could be speculated it will be during the Memorial Day Weekend. Anyone who purchased a pass (pre-COVID) will have it rolled over to the 2022 event. More information will be made available in 2021 and 2022.

This is not the only event to have changed or canceled their 2021 plans. SacAnime Winter 2021 was reorganized as a swap meet. CES 2021 has been became an all digital event. Augmented World Expo and the Game Developers Conference have will host their 2021 event later in the year.

Bay Con is the longest running science fiction and fantasy fan conventions in the Bay Area. The event brings together writers, artist and enthusiasts for a weekend that explores ones imagination.
