Big news for fans of the Final Fantasy series, Yen Press announces a release date for the light novel, Final Fantasy: Memories of Heroes.

In honor of its 25th anniversary, Final Fantasy: Memories of Heroes is written by Takashi Umemura and will be released on August 18th. It’s a collection three short stories that tells a different tale set during the events of the iconic games. Each story will follow a battle to preserve a balance between light and darkness set during the first game along Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy III.

Yen Press is an American publishing house that focuses on manga’s and graphic novels. They are based in New York and are co-owned by Kadokawa Corporation and Hachette Book Group.

Final Fantasy is a fantasy and science fiction JRPG series that is devloped and published by Square Enix since 1987. The last game to be released was the highly anticpated Final Fantasy VII remake.
