Viz Media has announced that they have acquired the publishing rights for the manga anthology Star Wars: The Legend of Luke Skywalker.

Star Wars: The Legend of Luke Skywalker will be a manga adaptation of the novel by Ken Liu. It will feature stories created by icons like Akira Himekawa, Akira Fukaya, and Takashi Kisaki. Also attached to the project is Haruichi, who previously worked on Leia Organa: Ordeal of the Princess.

In a press release by Viz Media, Chief Marketing Officer Brad Woods has stated the following:

“With the global appeal of the Star Wars franchise, this publishing release offers an exciting new way to enjoy the brand from the perspective of master manga storytellers. Star Wars: The Legend of Luke Skywalker features the dynamic vision and bold art styles of some of the manga genre’s most celebrated creators and artists. We invite readers to discover this release early next year.”

Star Wars: The Legend of Luke Skywalker is set to be released sometime in early 2020. More information about the collection will be made available in the future.

As a friendly reminder that Jedi Fallen Order set to be released on November 15th for all consoles. The Rise of Skywalker is set to be released in theaters on December 20th.
