NIS America announced The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure are coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 in Fall 2026.
Following their successful launch on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2022 and 2023, The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure will launch on next-gen consoles. No launch date has been set, but the target window is sometime during Fall 2026. It’s unclear if both titles will release on the same day or on separate dates. Details about the launch date, pre-orders, and special editions will be announced in the future.
NIS America confirmed both titles are coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 in the following trailers:
The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero is a remaster of the ninth entry in the iconic JRPG series. It launched on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC on September 27, 2022. The story follows Lloyd Bannings, a rookie cop assigned to the Crossbell Police Department’s Special Support Section (SSS). This new unit handles odd jobs for citizens to resolve issues faster and compete with the Bracer Guild. However, the squad takes on more than they can handle when they uncover a sinister conspiracy involving the D∴G cult, the Heiyue Syndicate, and public corruption.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure is a remaster of the tenth entry in the iconic JRPG series. It launched on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC on March 14, 2023. Following the events of Trails from Zero, life in Crossbell City hasn’t returned to normal. Tensions have been mounting with its neighboring countries, the Erebonian Empire and the Calvard Republic. The situation reaches a boiling point when Mayor Dieter Crois declares Crossbell’s full independence. This effectively ends its status as a buffer state and triggers a response from the neighboring powers.
Both games are part of the Crossbell arc, which concluded with The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie. We reviewed both games at launch, and you can read our review of Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure.
The latest entry in the series is The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon, which launched on PlayStation and Nintendo consoles along with PC on January 15, 2026. Players take on the roles of Van Arkride, Rean Schwarzer, and Kevin Graham as they work to prevent a world-threatening catastrophe. Check out our review to know what to expect.
