Tim Sweeney has been a pioneer in the gaming industry and in recognition of his accomplishments, he will be honored with a Life Time Achievement Award at the 2017 Game Developers Conference.
During his long career in the gaming world, Sweeney help establish Epic Games and was also the creator of the Unreal series. His biggest contribution to gaming was his work as the architect of the Unreal Engine, the most popular game engine in the industry.
Sweeney will be presented with the award during the Game Developers Choice Awards ceremony on Wednesday, March 1st. The ceremony will be held at 6:30 pm at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.
The 2017 Game Developers Conference will take place from February 27 until March 3rd and its designed to inform and educate industry professionals. Recipients of the Lifetime Achievement award are chosen by the Game Developers Choice Awards Advisory Committee, which includes several notable game industry leaders.
