During the Indie Horror Showcase, Nightdive Studios presented a new trailer for The Thing: Remastered that highlights its gameplay.

The Thing: Remastered Gameplay Trailer presents a spotlight on the combat and the role that trust plays in surviving. Killing the creatures requires weakening them with a firearm and then finishing them off with a flamethrower.

Some of the key gameplay elements include commanding a squad of up to four NPC who have their own special skills. Subduing paranoia is the key as you don’t know who is human and neither do your teammates. The squad will react to the environment and failure to control fear results in an individual having a mental breakdown.

The Thing: Remastered is set to launch sometime in 2024 for the Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and the PC. Additional details will become available in the future.

Released in 2002, The Thing serves as a follow-up to John Carpenter’s iconic horror film. Set three months after the events of the movie, a military unit is sent to investigate the radio silence at Outpost 31. During their mission, they encounter the creature and must prevent it from escaping.
