SF Japantown has announced they will be hosting a special event to honor the seven decade history of Godzilla.

Godzilla’s Seven Decades will celebrate the King of the Monsters’ rich legacy on December 6–7 and 13–14. The event will showcase seven artists presenting their vision of Godzilla throughout the Japantown Mall, along with a deep exploration of the franchise’s history through its movie posters at the SuperFrog Gallery. There will also be an outdoor screening of Shin Godzilla on Osaka Way under the Japantown Trellis Gate, beginning at 6:45 p.m. on December 6.

There will also be a Godzilla Stamp Rally, where visitors who spend $100 or more in Japantown can bring their same-day receipts to 3 Pillars to receive a stamped keepsake postcard and stickers. They will also be entered for a chance to win a selection of Godzilla prizes.

The event is being organized or made possible with the support of Toho International, New People, Inc., Japan Center Malls, Japan Center Garage, Japantown Merchants Association, Kinokuniya Bookstores of America, Hotel Kabuki, the Enso Hotel, and 3 Pillars.
