Announced during the State of Play, Capcom presented the first look at the Resident Evil 4 remake. The game is set to launch for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and the PC on March 24th, 2023. To have an idea of what the new game looks like, check out the trailer:
Players will once again take on the role of Leon S. Kennedy, now with the United States Secret Service. He is tasked with rescuing the Presidents daughter from a mysterious cult that plans to use a weaponized parasite to take over the world.
Resident Evil 4 now joins the other mainline titles that have received a remake in the last few years. The HD version of the Resident Evil remake was released in 2015. This was followed by the release of the Resident Evil 2 remake in 2019 and RE 3 in 2020.
The original Resident Evil 4 was released in 2005 first for the Nintendo Game Cube followed by the PlayStation 2. It has since been re-released on every console along with the PC. A VR version was launched for the Oculus Quest 2 in 2022.
