Forever Entertainment has announced the launch date for the highly anticipated remake of Front Mission 2.

Front Mission 2 Remake is set to launch for the Nintendo Switch on June 12th, 2023. At the moment, there is no word regarding a PlayStation or PC launch.

Set 12 years after the event of the first game, the story follows three Oceania Cooperative Union (OCU) soldiers during the conflict brought on in the aftermath of the Second Alordesh Coup. To have an idea of what to expect, check out the latest trailer: 

The remake will also have a series of quality improvements that will make experience more user friendly. Among them are:

  • Support for different languages
  • Improved loading speed
  • Camera zoom
  • New coloring and camouflage options
  • Modern in-game effects
  • Renewed soundtrack

Front Mission is a turn-based mecha JRPG that often follows conflicts between regional unions and economic blocs. The series is known for its rich storytelling along with its RPG gameplay. Players take command of a squad of wanzers (“walking tanks”) who they must command in battle. 

Front Mission and Front Mission 2 were only released in Japan for the PlayStation. Front Mission 3 was the first title in the series to be released outside of Japan.
