After its successful premiere back in June, it has been confirmed that the black and white edit of Godzilla Minus One is coming to Netflix.

Godzilla Minus One / Minus Color is a black and white edit of the film made to capture the tone of the first film. This version of the film was released in theaters for one week starting on January 26th, 2024. Now it’s set to premiere on Netflix starting on August 1st. Prior to an official announcement, there were rumors circulating that Minus One / Minus Color was coming to streaming services. However, many were unsure if it would be region based or exclusive to a service.

This news comes a day after it was confirmed that the film will receive a physical media release. Godzilla Minus One will be released on Blu-ray as a special collectors set. The set will include the original movie plus the black and white edit.

Godzilla Minus One is the 37th entry in the franchise and the second live-action film of the Reiwa era. A reimagining of the series beginning, the film follows a decimated post-war Japan having to deal with a new crisis in the form of Godzilla.
