Sony PlayStation GDC 2019 8Bit/Digi

The GDC team have announced that the Summer event has been transformed into a digital event. This comes a few months after the events new date was confirmed.

Game Developers Conference Summer was suppose to be the new date for the largest gathering of game developers. The original event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Given that it’s unclear how everything will look in a few months, the choice was made to make it an all digital event. That means all panels and workshops will be hosted online.

In a statement that was made online, the GDC team has stated:

“As so many game developers embrace remote working arrangements and online collaboration, we’re inspired to adapt and deliver GDC in a digital format that will be available to everyone with an internet connection, and will work hard to deliver the high-quality content and networking opportunities GDC attendees have come to expect.”

The Game Developers Conference is one of the largest gatherings of professionals from the gaming industry. The Summer 2020 event will take place from August 4th to the 6th.
