Neon Genesis Evangelion 8Bit/Digi

The release date for the fourth and final film in the Rebuild of Evangelion series has been announced.

Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time is set to be released in Japan on January 23rd, 2021. The announcement was made in a new teaser that appeared during the premier of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba THE MOVIE Mugen Train. You can check it out now:

At the moment, there is no word for a Western release. One could be speculated that it will be sometime in Summer 2021. More information will be made available in the future.

Rebuild of Evangelion is a cinematic retelling of the anime series while also introducing new characters to the story. The series brings together series creator, Hideaki Anno, along with the original writers and performers. The first film, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, was released back in 2007.

Neon Genesis Evangelion follows the story of Shinji as he is recruited to pilot an Evangelion into combat against the Angels. The series has been highly praised for deconstructing the mecha genre while also exploring complex themes. Among those are that exploration of the meaning of individuality and personal choice.
