The Fanimaid Cafe team has announced a series of tryouts for anyone who wants to volunteer during the FanimeCon 2023 weekend. Time to get that maid cosplay ready and practice your customer service skills if you want to join the Fanimaid team. 

Maid cafes are a staple of anime conventions and the one at FanimeCon has been hailed as one of the best. That is why Fanimaid Cafe will be holding four tryouts in January to find qualified volunteers. Two will take place in the Bay Area, one in the Los Angeles area, and one on the East Coast. 

Tryouts for Fanimaid Cafe will first take place at the following times and locations:  

• Gaylord National Resort on January 7th from 5pm to 7pm
• Los Angeles on January 8th from 1pm to 3pm
• San Jose on January 14th from Noon to 2pm
• San Francisco on January 21st from 1pm to 3pm

Anyone who wants to try out must be an anime fan and needs to be 18+ years of age. They also need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof. Being punctual is also mandatory and anyone who is tardy will be disqualified.

Those who are welcomed to the team are required to provide their own transportation and approved uniform. They have to purchase their own badges but are reimbursed after completing their shift. Volunteers must be able to dedicate 10 hours for shifts on Saturday and Sunday. They must also attend a mandatory one hour meeting on Friday.

FanimeCon 2023 will take place during the Memorial Day Weekend at the San Jose Convention Center along with the surrounding locations. More information about the event will be available in the coming months.

Fanimaid Cafe is the official maid cafe of FanimeCon and a staple of the event for 12 years.
