In a major blow to the eSports community of the Bay Area, Esports Arena Oakland has announced they have closed permanently.

Like so many business in the Bay Area, Esports Arena Oakland has was forced to end due to the burden brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. The community was reassured that the Roseville location will be opening soon. Esports Arena Oakland made the announcement in the following tweet.

The news was meet with heart break among fans, as many shared the good times they had. Many also thanked the staff for all they have done for the eSport community of the Bay Area (especially in the East Bay). Many also shared their favorite moments during their time at Esports Arena Oakland.

Esports Arena is one of the largest eSports venue and community hubs in the industry. The Oakland location opened in 2018 and was the third location in North America. With the closure of the Oakland location, there will now be 14 venues.
