According to the latest financial report by Sony, the number of paid Crunchyroll subscribers has surpassed 10 million global users.

Based on the information from the FY2022 Consolidated Financial Results, Crunchyroll had accumulated 10.7 million paid subscribers by the end of March 2023. At the same time, the venture has been profitable despite amortization (the acquisition cost minus the residual value of intangible assets) associated with the acquisition.

The report also makes clear that there is potential for growth in untapped markets. Backing this up is the fact that 48% of the $19 billion USD anime market was outside of Japan. Crunchyroll will continue to work with other studios and distributors in delivering quality content.

FY2022 Consolidated Financial Results was published by Sony on April 28th and was focused on all of their ventures. Details about Crunchyroll could be found on pages 13 to 14.
