Horror film fans in the Bay Area will be excited to learn that Creatures-Con will return in 2023. They have already announced the date and location of the event along with the first batch of guests.
Creatures-Con 2023 will take place on August 13th at the Concord Plaza Hotel (located at 45 John Glen Dr., Concord, CA). Currently; no event or panel has been planned yet but that will change in the future. Tickets are also set to go on sale in the coming months.
The guest list features Sara Karloff, John Russo, David J. Skal, John Stanley, Tom Wyrsch, along with Frank Dietz. Also on the list are Tony Valla and Miss Misery. Event founder, Lord Blood-Rah, will once again host the event.
It’s not really Creatures-Con without Lord Blood-Rah, the co-founder of the convention and host of the award winning series Lord Blood-Rah’s Nerve Wrackin’ Theatre.
Sara Karloff is an actress and horror film historian. She is best known for her work of preserving and sharing the legacy of her father, the horror film legend, Boris Karloff.
John Russo is a horror film icon known as the co-writer of Night of the Living Dead. He also wrote the story for The Return of the Living Dead and was a producer for Night of the Living Dead (1990 remake). He has also directed several films in his career.
John Stanley was an entertainment writer for the San Francisco Chronicle and the host of Creature Features from 1979 to 1984.
David J. Skal is a cultural historian and author of the books The Monster Show: A Cultural History of Horror and Death Makes a Holiday: A Cultural History of Halloween.
Tom Wyrsch is a filmmaker and horror film historian who is best known for his work on Creature Feature.
Frank Dietz is a filmmaker, animator, and artist with a robust history in the industry. He is best known for his work on Long Live the King and is currently working on Season 2 of Creepshow.
Miss Misery is the host of the series Miss Misery’s Movie Massacre and is the author of the Monsters series.
Tony Valla is a stuntman and stunt coordinator who has worked on Mayans MC and Penny Dreadful.
