Kit 9 Studios has hit a new milestone as they have completed the core gameplay for Episode 3 of The Coffin of Andy and Leyley.

As confirmed in Progress Report #8, the core gameplay has been completed from end to end. This gives the devs a true count of how many assets will be needed to complete the episode. As mentioned in Progress Report #4, the game editor could only work with a few hundred images for certain categories. This was discovered because they hit the cap during the development of Episode 3.

Now that the gameplay has been completed, they have a good idea of how many audio tracks, cutscenes, backgrounds, and character dialogue sprites would be needed.

Despite this milestone, no estimations have been made for when the next episode will become available. Currently, only the gameplay and writing have been completed.

The Coffin of Andy and Leyley is a horror adventure game that blends elements of a psychological thriller with those of a dark comedy. The story follows siblings Andrew and Ashley Graves trying to survive a quarantine by taking drastic measures.

The game started as a project released on Itch.io before launching on Steam in Early Access. No launch date has been set but the goal is to have a full launch sometime in 2024.
