Bit Replay October 2019 Game Swap 8Bit/Digi

After four years of serving the gamer community in Downtown Campbell, AFKxp Tech + Games is moving out of the second floor of LvL Up. It announced over the weekend that it will be closing its Campbell location and merging all its operations with Guildhouse.

AFKxp Tech + Games has posted a statement online announcing the end of all services at its Campbell location. The upcoming April game swap meets, as well as the Smash Ultimate and Guilty Gear tournaments, will be the last events held at the Campbell location. In the meantime, The Retro Fix will take over the space and expand its operations.

The merging of operations with Guildhouse is part of a new strategy to better focus on eSport events. The long-term goal is to open another AFK similar to the original one (that was located in Downtown San Jose).

AFKxp Tech+Games could only be described as the heart of the gaming community in the South Bay. They are known for hosting gaming events while allowing gamers to play on their PC or consoles for a given time. They have been located on the second floor of LvL Up in Campbell since late 2019.

Guildhouse is a video game and tabletop lounge located on South First Street in Downtown San Jose. Established by the co-founders of AFK, it offers guests an environment to enjoy their favorite games over food and drinks.

8Bit/Digi is an independent media outlet that provides an insight into the gamer community of the San Francisco Bay Area.
