Women In Gaming International and SF Bay Area Womxn in Games have partnered to organize an inclusive event during the Game Developers Conference dubbed Womxn In Games Conference 2019.
Womxn In Games Conference 2019 is a one day event that will present an insightful look into the work of those who are chaining the gaming industry. The mini-conference will feature a series of panels and networking events.
It has also been confirmed that Christine Vo, Emily Grace Buck, Kate Edwards and Tanya C. DePass will be the featured speakers.
Christine Vo is the Social Media and Community Manager for Glu Mobile with over six years of experience in the industry. She is also an activist for making the Tech industry more inclusive.
Emily Grace Buck is the Creative Director for Buckshot Interactive. She is well known for her work at Telltale Games, having worked on The Walking Dead and Batman: The Telltale Series.
Kate Edwards is the CEO of Geogrify LLC who is best known for pioneering content culturalization. She was also the former Executive Director of the International Game Developers Association from 2012 to 2017.
Tanya C. DePass is the founder and I Need Diverse Games, a not-for-profit that has been advocating along with working towards better diversity in the gaming community and industry.
The event will be hosted at Glu Mobile office at 875 Howard Street (located across the street from Moscone West) and will take place on March 20th. A GDC badge is not required but those wanting to attend need to register.
The Game Developers Conference is one of the largest gatherings of professionals from the gaming industry and the 2019 event will take place between March 18 until March 22nd at the Moscone Convention Center and the surrounding areas.
