VIZ Media Announces New Venture for Aspiring American Manga Creators

VIZ Media announces a new venture that aims to launch new titles created by American manga writers and artists.

Through VIZ Originals, the publisher has launched a one-shot submissions portal that will showcase American creators alongside manga legends on the VIZ Manga digital service. It will generate bite-sized original manga stories spanning various genres, from horror and comedy to action and romance. All are created by established creators and emerging talent.

Overseeing VIZ Originals will be Hisashi Sasaki, the former Editor-in-Chief of the Weekly Shonen Jump. Selected creators will work closely with him, making VIZ Media the only US publisher to offer this experience domestically.

Aspiring manga creators are invited to submit their work through the VIZ Originals Portal.
