What to Expect in September 2023

With the Summer Season coming to an end, Viz Media has announced a list of major releases for the month of September 2023. This includes new manga series by major writers and artists, the return of beloved stories, along with major DVD launches.

All works can be purchased through Viz Media or authorized vendors. Here is a breakdown of all the major releases from Viz Media during the month of September.

Series Debut

Star Wars: The Mandalorian: The Manga Vol. 1 is an adaptation of the acclaimed series of the same name. A bounty hunter named Din Djarin (known as the Mandalorian or Mando) is hired by a faction of the Imperial Remnants to collect an “asset”. Upon discovering the asset is a force sensitive child, he vows to protect the Child. 

#DRCL midnight children Vol. 1 follows Mina struggle to find her place as Whitby School’s first and only female student. Things are only made worse when Count Dracula is unleashed upon the academy and its unsuspecting students. When he lays claim to her beloved Lucy Westenra, Mina stands ready to fight.

Blade of the Moon Princess Vol. 1 begins when Kaguya ends up being ejected from the moon and stranded on a primitive world. Now she has to find a way back to the moon and reclaim her throne.

Anime Tie-Ins

My Hero Academia Vol. 35 has the heroes preparing for the coming war against the villains. As they weave their plans, spies within U.A. could give it all away. If their plans work out, the heroes hope to divide and conquer, but even the best-laid plans rarely survive contact.

One-Punch Man Vol. 26 follows the fight against the major players of the Monster Association. The Class-S heroes find themselves locked in a desperate struggle as Tornado closes in on Gyoro-Gyoro’s main body. Meanwhile, Saitama wanders the labyrinth where the Monster Association is hiding out.

Chainsaw Man Box Setcovers the first arc of the acclaimed series in one collection. The box set contains the first 11 volumes as well as an exclusive double-sided full-color poster.

New Releases

Blue Box Vol. 6 begins as Taiki realizes he may never be able to close the gap between himself and Chinatsu. He takes her to the beach to celebrate her birthday hoping to cheer her up. Unfortunately plans change an unexpected storm forces them closer than ever before.

Mao Vol. 3 begins when Mao has a revelation about Byoki the cat demon. Meanwhile, the gang takes on a corrupt polluting industrialist. At the same time, Mei reveals new facets of her personality. 

Alice in Borderland Vol. 10 continues with the Borderland visitors finishing the Face Card game. Things get worst when they have to play the King of Spades’ game. Can the players take down the Sniper King before they are taken out? 

Books

BLEACH: The Official Anime Coloring Book is filled with 80 pages of art from the beloved series. It features high-quality paper and includes a flexible binding for easy coloring. 

NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: The Official Coloring Book has over 70 line art images from the hit series. It’s printed on high-quality paper and includes a flexible binding so fans can easily color in the images of their favorite characters.

The Art of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Corps Records provides an inside look into the Demon Slayer Corps that was not included in the manga or anime series.
