TripWire Announces That Espire 2 is in the Works

Fans of the stealth action VR game will be excited to learn that a sequel is in the works. TripWire has announced that Espire 2 is in the works for the Meta Quest 2.

Revealed during the Meta Quest Gaming Showcase, the game is being developed by Digital Lode and published by Tripwire Interactive. Espire 2 is set to launch sometime in November 2022 exclusively for the Meta Quest 2.

Players will once put into the role of POE (the Primary Operator of Espire) who must pilot the Espire Model 1 Operative droid. They are deployed to carry out espionage actions while trying to save the world from terrorists. To have an idea of what to expect, check out the trailer:

The game will feature the immersive single player campaign that will take players around the world. Each level is designed to allow players the choice of how they approach each challenge while using an array of special gears and weapons. A first for the series, the game will also include a co-op campaign that will bridge the story between both games.

Espire is an espionage themed VR experience that could only be described as Metal Gear Solid in VR. Players take command of the Espire android and pilot it through a series of missions.
